Artefact Ideas

The task: Create an original artefact driven by personal practice, entrepreneurial insight or social need.

For my chosen product or service I have decided to take inspiration from something that interest me me the most which is music. There a few different sites and apps around for rating things such as movies and books but I feel like there is a gap in the market for a good music rating app. I know of a couple of music rating apps but they are not as well known as apps such as Letterboxd (films) and Goodreads (books). I really want to create an idea that involves everything a music lover would want in one place. Below I will list some of my ideas for things I would like this app to potentially feature:

• Reviewing albums and singles

• Reviewing gigs and events - and see gigs coming up in your area

• Add all albums you’ve listened to into a virtual library

• A place to scan in your vinyl collection and wantlist - or connect Discogs

• A way to connect you Spotify / Apple Music ect

• Connect with friends - see their reviews, listening activity ect

• Yearly and monthly statistics - most played artist, album, song ect

• Rank your top 10 albums, artists and songs
